Access TAF and METAR data in realtime. Aviation weather reports/observations and forecasts are a corner stone to safe flying around the globe.
Built for simplicity and speed of information flow, this Lite version allows for up to three International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) identifier codes and simply displays them as text, no whizzy maps to download or render, simply information as quick and easy as possible.
Meteorological Aviation Report (METAR) is a format for reporting weather information. A METAR weather report is predominantly used by pilots in fulfillment of a part of a pre-flight weather briefing, and by meteorologists, who use aggregated METAR information to assist in weather forecasting.
Raw METAR is the most popular format in the world for the transmission of weather data. It is highly standardized through ICAO, which allows it to be understood throughout most of the world.
In meteorology and aviation, TAF is a format for reporting weather forecast information, particularly as it relates to aviation. "TAF" is an acronym of Terminal Aerodrome Forecast or, in some countries, Terminal Area Forecast. TAFs apply to a five statute mile radius from the center of the airport runway complex. Generally, TAFs can apply to a 9- or 12-hour forecast; some TAFs cover an 18- or 24-hour period; and as of November 5, 2008, TAFs for some major airports cover 30 hours periods
This version allows start up ICAO codes, adjusting text size to suit your requirements and links to International and US Standard for TAF and METAR creation.
